Glasgow Film Festival today announced more guests for their 10th anniversary year, including the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss and director Terry Gilliam.
Dreyfuss, star of American Graffiti, Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, will be attending the UK premiere of his latest film, Cas & Dylan, on Saturday 22 February. Dreyfuss will be accompanied by the film’s debut director, one-time Beverly Hills 90210 star, Jason Priestley.
Terry Gilliam, director of Brazil and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, will attend the Festival on Thursday 27 February, in support of his new film, The Zero Theorem, which stars Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon and Tilda Swinton.
The Festival Closing Gala this year is Under The Skin, partly shot in the city and starring Scarlett Johansson: director Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast) and star Paul Brannigan will return to Glasgow to walk the red carpet.
Other guests include legendary magician and Boogie Nights star, Ricky Jay, in town for the UK premiere of the new documentary about his life, Deceptive Practice: The Mysteries and Mentors of Ricky Jay; director David Mackenzie with new film, Starred Up; and Brontis Jodorowksy, the son of world-respected director Alejandro, who will discuss starring in his father’s newest autobiographical film The Dance of Reality; and in which Brontis plays his own grandfather.
