ScreenHI, the agency for developing the screen and broadcast industries in the Highlands and Islands, has today announced new film and broadcast strands at goNORTH 2012.
goNORTH 2012, one of Scotland’s largest creative industries festivals, will run from the 6 – 7 June 2012 across the city of Inverness. Described as a showcase for Scotland, goNORTH brings the creative industries to the Highlands and Islands.
ScreenHI has also announced that the opening date for submission of films for the festival will be Friday 27 January 2012. The submission strand is open to any filmmaker for any genre up to 30 minutes.
Filmmakers will have the opportunity to show their films as part of a screening showcase at Celtic Media Festival, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Tiree Festival, The Wickerman Festival and Loopallu. In addition, more European festival partners will be announced later in the year.
The programming of the films at goNORTH 2012 will be designed to get maximum audiences and exposure with ScreenHI showing films before workshops and training sessions as well as alongside curated features.
”This year will see a bigger and better screen and broadcast strand for goNORTH 2012 and we hope many people from across the Highlands and Islands, Scotland and internationally are able to attend this important creative industries festival,” said Amanda Millen, Screen and Broadcast Director, goNORTH and Director, ScreenHI.
