A round-up of some of the best films and events coming to cinemas in Glasgow and the West over the next seven days.

“Warriors, come out to play-i-ay”

As part of their Late Night Films event, the GFT are screening Walter Hills 1979 cult classic The Warriors, Friday 26 March (10.45pm).

After a powerful, rival gang leader is killed at a peace rally, The Warriors are wrongly framed. They have to make it home to Coney Island safely, but it isn’t going to be easy as every other gang in New York city is after them. Perfectly cast, part action, part suspense, part exploitation, The Warriors sits up there with the greats.

Yang Yang 2009

Whether you have seen it or not, and with rumours of a mooted Tony Scott helmed remake in the works, now is as good a time as any to catch this classic on the big screen.

At £5/3.50 concessions, it’s too good a deal to miss!

Tickets are available at the GFT online or in person.  Bring your ticket along to the official after party at Nice n Sleazy and receive free entry! “Can you dig it?”

If neither of those tickle your fancy, Golden Lion nominated French film Lourdes is also released. Or if Taiwanese cinema is your thing then head across to the GFT for the continuation of the Taiwan Cinefest with Yang Yang (Sunday 28th 5.20), Step Step (Tuesday 30th 12.45/6.30) and How Are You Dad? (Wednesday 31st 6.15). Full details and booking information can be found on the GFT website.
